Activo-Med leg wraps are supplied in pairs and are available with pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy, massage therapy or a combination of the two.
The control box and battery is attached to the surcingle provided. Leg wrap cables are plugged into the control box which is supplied with pre-set programs and settings, but these can be adjusted to suit the horses requirements.
The leg wraps can be bought as a ‘system’ which includes a control box, battery and charger or they can be bought as components if you already own an Activo-Med rug, as they will run off the same control box.
For tendon and ligament strains kicks, bumps and bruises, stiffness and arthritis, general prevention and recovery post exercise.
The Control Box
The Combi Pro System is operated with a specially designed multi-function control box based on the latest micro processor technology. Together with the lightweight battery unit, the control box is put in a small plastic wallet and secured directly on the top of the blanket.

PEMF Boots
The boots are made from Goretex and fix to the leg like a travel boot using elastic Velcro. They cover from the sensitive part of the hoof up to the carpal joint. They are easy to use and offer a wide spectrum of treatment. Each boot contains 4 magnetic spools and works using the same principle as the rug: the 4 magnetic spools work in conformity to the natural flow of the blood- and lymph-lines in the legs. They are activated from the outside down to the inside up in the sequence 1-2-3-4 (see picture). Hind leg wraps are now also available. These can be purchased with the Blanket or at a later stage, contact us for package prices.
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy (PEMF) uses a range of frequencies and intensities to stimulate different cells in the body. This helps to promote cells with different functions to work more efficiently. The effectiveness of PEMF therapy has been FDA approved and is widely used by well-known organisations such as the NHS.
All electromagnetic fields are charged with energy generated by electric current: where current flows, magnetism develops.

When not to use PEMF:
CLEANING
Stables and horses are not terribly clean. Don’t worry! The blanket and boots are washable at 30 degrees C. The components are self-contained and are easily removed for washing.
The equipment should be stored and operated in a dry place.
